Legacy of Amon
This forest Nation is primarily Composed of elves, although halflings and humans do live its tree cities. Mirina’s Forest is one of the few nations that completely abstained from the Great War against Lagon, and to this day this is still some resentment amongst the other nations. The Warden of the Forest is the position of highest arcane powerin Mirina’s Forest, and the position is currently held be Asmond the Ethereal. Asmond uses what arcane power he can must to watch over the nation through the trees of the forest. For this reason, great care is taken not to cut down certain trees, as the divination magic imbued in them is very costly to reproduce. Mirina’s Forest is primarily composed of tree cities, since the forest is unbroken for the entirely of the nation. Its largest city, High Branch, is as large as any terrestrial city in Acline.
Population: approximately 150,000
Composition: Elven 82%, Human 10%, Halfling 6%, other 2%
High branch is in many ways as majestic now as it was prior to the loss of magic. The trees of the city, cultivated by magic to grow in intricate ways, remain despite the loss of magical power. However, as with many cities in Acline, parts of it are effectively ruins. Without magical means of conveyance, parts of the city are too difficult to reach. Accordingly, High Branch has become more dense and buildings and structures arise in locations closer together which are easier to reach.
Scholars often study in High Branch because the trees are remnants of the Arcane power that once was common. However, As the years has past, High Branch has become more and more insular. Because the city’s magic crafted trees serve as a constant monument to arcane craftsmanship, the city and nation are reminded more so than the average denizen of Acline how great and powerful magic used to be. These reminders lead Mirianians to resentment of the war and the lose of magic that they feel was forced on them.
